Karuna Chakra Kind Circle Scholarship 2024-25

Eligibility

  • The Karuna Chakra - Kind Circle Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in any educational institution (school or college) across India who meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • An annual family income not exceeding INR 8,00,000 from all sources.
  • Students must be experiencing one or more of the following situations:
    • Person with disabilities
    • Orphan students
    • Students from single-parent families
    • Students undergoing significant family crises
    • Students with non-graduate parents and high academic achievements
    • Students nominated by Kind Circle members
  • Additionally, students who already have partial scholarships, which do not cover the full cost of their education and need additional financial support, are encouraged to apply.
    Note: Students can also be nominated by specific funders and will be considered after thorough due diligence.

     

Benefits:

Flexible Funding Model: Scholarship amounts vary based on sponsor contributions.

  • Class 1 to 10: Tuition, bus fees, and stationery; ₹12,000 to ₹18,000.
  • Class 11 and 12: Tuition, transportation, career counseling, devices, and books; ₹15,000 to ₹24,000.
  • Graduate/Postgraduate (General): Tuition, hostel, and mess fees; ₹24,000 to ₹60,000.
  • Graduate/Postgraduate (Professional): Tuition, hostel, mess, transportation, and devices; ₹60,000 to ₹2,50,000.

The standard scholarship model outlined above may vary depending on the interests of individual funders. Adjustments can be made based on the specific needs of students and the preferences of sponsors.

Jyoti Prakash Scholarship Program for Orphans & Single Parent Children

Eligibility

  • Students who have lost both or either of their parents. 

  • Applicants must be studying in Class 9-12, graduation, or postgraduation courses.   

  • Applicants must have secured at least 55% marks in their previous qualifying examination. 

  • For single-parent children, the annual family income must be less than INR 6 lakh whereas for orphans, the annual income of their guardian must be less than INR 3 lakh.

  • Open only for Indian citizens.

  • Children of Buddy4Study employees are not eligible for this scholarship.

Benefits:

  • For Class 9 to 12 students: INR 15,000 
  • For Graduation students: INR 18,000 
  • For Postgraduation students: INR 24,000

Jyoti Prakash Scholarship Program for First-Generation Learners

Eligibility

  • Students whose parents are non-graduates and are daily wage earners, drivers, farmers, gardeners, plumbers, electricians, security guards, etc. 

  • Applicants must be studying in Class 9-12, graduation, or postgraduation courses.  

  • Applicants must have secured at least 55% marks in their previous qualifying examination. 

  • The annual family income of the applicant must be less than INR 3 lakh. 

  • Open only for Indian citizens.

  • Children of Buddy4Study employees are not eligible for this scholarship.

Yes, donors have the flexibility to specify how their contributions are used. They can choose to support specific types of students, fields of study, or even direct their funds to support students from particular regions or institutions.

Donors have several opportunities to engage with Kind Circle or with scholarship recipients, including mentorship programs, annual meet-ups, and progress presentations. These interactions are designed to foster connections and allow donors to see the direct impact of their contributions. (This is still evolving)

Absolutely, donors can choose to remain anonymous by selecting the "Anonymous" option at the time of donation. This choice ensures privacy while still contributing to a noble cause.

All donors receive regular updates about the progress and achievements of the scholars they support. These updates include academic progress reports and personal feedback from the students, allowing donors to witness the tangible impact of their contributions firsthand.

The distribution of scholarships is managed with strict adherence to transparency and accountability. Regular audits, detailed impact reports, and rigorous monitoring are conducted to ensure that every donation is effectively utilized and reaches the intended beneficiaries.

Selection is based on socio-economic background, funding needs, academic merit, and enrollment status. Applicants must submit a detailed application, which is then reviewed by the Kind Circle team through a rigorous process that includes document verification and personal interviews.

Scholarships are generally awarded for the entire duration of the academic program but require annual renewals based on the student's academic performance and adherence to scholarship terms along with the fund availability towards his/her scholarship

The scholarship amount is flexible and is calculated based on the tuition fees, living expenses, and the specific financial needs of the student, ensuring significant coverage of educational costs with a minimum and maximum fixed amount.

In addition to financial aid, recipients receive counseling, tutoring, career advice, and internship opportunities to support their holistic development and academic success. (This is still evolving)

Students are required to report any significant changes to the scholarship committee, which then assesses and adjusts the support as necessary to accommodate new circumstances.

Over 10,000 students currently require support, with this number growing as new cases arise and as beneficiaries graduate or complete their education.

There are no stringent requirements to become a donor. Individuals and organizations can contribute, with the primary requirement being a willingness to help students continue their education.

Alumni can give back by donating to the fund, serving as mentors, or sharing their success stories to inspire current students and sustain the scholarship program.
