Worried about paying for school or college? How students can find, apply for and receive Kind Circle scholarships – documents, verification and tips.
If you are a student worried about how to pay for school or college, you are not alone – and you may not have to manage it alone either. Kind Circle brings together families, companies, alumni and communities who fund scholarships for deserving students across India. This guide explains, in simple steps, how students can find and apply for these scholarships.
What is Kind Circle?
Kind Circle is a philanthropic initiative of Buddy4Study India Foundation. On Kind Circle, donors create "circles" – scholarships with a name, a purpose and their own rules. Some support school students, some support engineering, medical or law students, and some support girls, students who have lost a parent, or students from a particular region.
Kind Circle scholarships are usually open for applications through Buddy4Study, India's scholarship platform.
Step 1: Register on Buddy4Study
Create a free account on Buddy4Study and complete your profile carefully – your class or course, marks, family income, state and any special circumstances. A complete profile helps you find the scholarships you are eligible for.
Step 2: Find scholarships that match you
Each Kind Circle scholarship has its own eligibility. Some examples:
- Girls in Classes 9 and 10 from families earning under ₹3 lakh a year – the Aadya Scholarship
- Students from Class 6 to postgraduate with at least 75% marks – the KVS & Geetha Scholarship
- Law students and law aspirants – the GEV Memorial Merit Scholarship
- College students from Greater Noida – the NPCL Seedhi Scholarship
Read the eligibility carefully before you apply. You can also browse all circles on the circles page.
Step 3: Keep your documents ready
Most scholarships ask for documents such as:
- Mark sheets from your last exams
- Proof of admission or a current fee receipt
- Family income certificate
- Identity proof
- Bank account details
- A recommendation letter from your school or college, if asked
- Any special documents, such as a disability certificate or a parent's death certificate, if they apply to you
Scan them clearly. Blurry or incomplete documents can delay your application.
Step 4: Apply and tell your story honestly
Fill the application form completely. Where you are asked about your family background or goals, write honestly and in your own words. Donors want to understand who you are and what the scholarship would mean to you.
Step 5: Verification
If you are shortlisted, the team will check your documents and may call you for a short interview by phone or video. This is to make sure that support reaches students who truly need it. Read how Kind Circle verifies students.
Step 6: Selection and payment
The circle's donors review verified profiles and approve the final scholars. If you are selected, the scholarship is paid directly into your bank account or to your school or college, depending on the scholarship.
Can someone nominate me?
Yes. A teacher, a donor or someone in your community can nominate a deserving student for a Kind Circle scholarship. Nominated students receive an invitation to apply and go through the same verification as everyone else.
Important: applying is free
You never have to pay anyone to apply for or receive a Kind Circle scholarship. If anyone asks you for money to "guarantee" a scholarship, do not pay, and report it to kind@buddy4study.com.
After you receive a scholarship
- Keep studying well. Many scholarships are renewed only if you keep up your marks.
- Share updates. Donors love hearing how you are doing.
- Remember to pay it forward. Kind Circle scholars are encouraged to support at least one student once they start earning. Read about Pay It Forward.
Tips for a stronger application
- Apply early. Do not wait for the last day – technical problems or missing documents can cost you the chance.
- Check every detail. Your name, marks and bank details must match your documents exactly.
- Be honest. Wrong information can lead to rejection, even later.
- Answer calls and emails. If the team contacts you for verification, respond quickly.
- Ask for help if you need it. A teacher or family member can help you fill the form, but the story should be yours.
