Mission 100 Crore Scholarship Fund: 72 Scholars and Counting

The Mission 100 Crore Scholarship Fund has raised over ₹97 lakh and supported 72 scholars. The story of the fund, who it helps and how to join the mission.

Every year, many deserving students in India abandon or change their education plans because they cannot afford to continue. The Mission 100 Crore Scholarship Fund Kind Circle was created to change that – with a bold goal to build a ₹100 crore pool for students who need it most. Here is the story of the fund, the students it has helped, and how you can be part of it.

The mission

The Mission 100 Crore Scholarship Fund is a shared scholarship fund on Kind Circle, run by Buddy4Study India Foundation. Its belief is simple: education should never be a privilege – it should be an opportunity for all.

Unlike a family or memorial circle, which reflects one family's wishes, this fund brings together donors from everywhere. Anyone can give – one-time or every month – and the fund supports verified students across India who are at risk of dropping out.

The impact so far

  • Over ₹97 lakh raised from donors who share the mission
  • 72 scholars supported so far
  • Students supported from Class 1 to postgraduate and PhD level, across disciplines

The fund has covered college fees, hostel costs, coaching fees, books and academic needs – whatever stood between a student and the next step in their education.

Who the fund supports

The fund gives priority to students facing the hardest circumstances, including:

  • Orphans and children of single parents
  • Students with disabilities
  • Students and families in crisis, including serious illness in the family
  • Students from economically weaker families
  • Students whose parents did not have the chance to study
  • Students facing urgent admission-related costs

How students are selected

Every student goes through a careful process: a review of academic performance, verification of family background and finances, an interview, document checks and bank account verification before any money is released. Funds go directly to the student's bank account or to their institution. Read how Kind Circle verifies students.

Stories behind the numbers

Behind every number is a young person who kept going. Across Kind Circle, scholars like these show what timely support makes possible:

  • Payal Chhillar lost her father and faced great hardship. With scholarship support, she is now studying Political Science and dreams of becoming a professor.
  • Gokulan M, a first-generation learner from Chennai, is studying Mining Engineering at IIT (BHU) Varanasi.
  • Deepak G, an Aerospace Engineering student at IIT Kharagpur, was freed from financial stress to focus on his dreams.

A cycle of giving

The fund is about more than one year of support. Every scholar is encouraged to pay it forward – to support at least one student once they start earning. Over time, today's scholars become tomorrow's donors, and the fund keeps growing on its own. Read about Pay It Forward.

Why give to a shared fund?

  • No setup needed. You can give right away, without starting your own circle.
  • Reaches students with urgent needs. The fund can respond to many kinds of hardship across India.
  • Every amount helps. Small gifts from many donors combine into full scholarships.
  • Full transparency. The circle page shows donations and disbursals as they happen.

If you would rather choose exactly who you support, you can also start your own circle.

How to give
