No Money to Give? 6 Ways to Help a Student Through Kind Circle

You don't need money to change a student's life. Six ways to help through Kind Circle – nominating students, sharing scholarships and becoming an ambassador.

Not everyone can afford to fund a scholarship – and that is completely fine. Some of the most important help a student ever receives does not involve money at all. A teacher who spots a struggling student. A friend who shares a fundraising page. A neighbour who tells a family about a scholarship they had never heard of. On Kind Circle, you can make a real difference without donating a single rupee.

1. Nominate a deserving student

You may know a student who is bright, hard-working and about to give up because of money – a neighbour's daughter, your driver's son, a student from your old school. You can nominate them on Kind Circle. Nominated students are invited to apply and go through careful verification. Sometimes a nomination is all it takes for a deserving student to be noticed.

2. Share scholarships with students who need them

Every year, scholarships go unused simply because the right students never hear about them. If you know students, parents or teachers, share Kind Circle scholarships with them – on WhatsApp, at community gatherings, in school groups. Our guide for students is a good link to share.

3. Share a circle or a student's story

A circle grows when more people see it. Sharing a circle page or a student's fundraising page with your network can bring in donors you would never have reached alone. One share can lead to one gift – and one gift can keep a student in college. Read how student fundraising pages work.

4. Invite others to start a circle

Do you know a family that wants to honour a parent, a company with a CSR budget, or an alumni group looking for a cause? Introduce them to Kind Circle. Some of the most impactful circles began with one person telling another, "You should look at this." Point them to our guides on memorial scholarships, family scholarships or CSR scholarships.

5. Bring Kind Circle to your workplace

If you work at a company, you can suggest an employee giving circle to your HR or CSR team. Colleagues give small amounts together, often through payroll, and the company may match what they give. Read about employee giving and employer matching gifts.

6. Become a Kind Circle ambassador in your community

Ambassadors are people who believe in what Kind Circle does and help spread the word. You might:

  • Talk about Kind Circle in your residents' association, community group or place of worship
  • Share Kind Circle blogs and stories on social media
  • Help a school or college in your area nominate students
  • Encourage your alumni group to start a circle
  • Help a family abroad find the right way to give

If you would like to help as an ambassador, write to us at kind@buddy4study.com.

Former scholars: you are our best ambassadors

If you once received a scholarship, your story is powerful. Speaking about what it meant to you – at your old school, on social media or to friends – encourages both donors and students. When you are ready, you can also give through the Buddy4Study Scholars Impact Scholarship and keep your Pay It Forward pledge.

A few simple dos and don'ts

  • Do share only official Kind Circle links.
  • Do tell students that applying is always free.
  • Don't collect money on anyone's behalf. All donations should go through Kind Circle so donors receive official receipts.
  • Don't share students' personal details publicly.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to register to nominate a student?
Use the nominate a student page and follow the steps shown.

Will the student I nominate definitely get a scholarship?
Not always. Every nominated student goes through verification and selection, but nominating them gives them a real chance.

Can I volunteer if I live abroad?
Yes. Sharing, inviting and connecting people can be done from anywhere.

Every act counts

Kind Circle's belief is simple: no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. A nomination, a share or an introduction can change the course of a student's life just as surely as a donation. Nominate a student, share a circle, or write to kind@buddy4study.com to get involved.
